In my years in the health industry, one of the things I’ve been really glad about was the emphasis on the importance of mental health. For decades, there has always been a stigma about acknowledging issues related to mental health, the topic a hush-hush at gatherings or even at the dinner table. Hence, it has been a breath of fresh air to see new studies and research, and most especially the youth (looking at you, GenZs!) actively campaigning about how mental health matters! It’s just as important as physical health and one must function well to support the other and vice versa.
